HALTER’S BODY SHOP
Shop has history of excellent service
For general manager David Halter, 50 years in business is a lifetime — literally.
The 50-year-old son of Halter’s Body Shop owner and founder Ferdinand W. Halter has been around the family’s auto- motive collision-repair business all his life.
“I cut my teeth in this business,” Halter said jokingly. “I cannot remember a time I wasn’t around the body shop.”
Halter said he recalls spending his child- hood banging around on some old vehicle hood, sweeping f loors, and watching and learning as cars were torn apart, repaired, repainted and restored to their preaccident condition.
It was a natural progression for Halter to assume the management role when the elder Halter retired about 20 years ago.
“It’s really humbling to be celebrating 50 years in business,” Halter said. He attri- butes the success of the business to putting customer satisfaction first, maintaining a work ethic built on honesty and integrity, and continuing to provide excellent crafts- manship for top-quality collision repair.
“If you are good at what you do, you won’t have to tell anyone, because everyone else will do the talking for you,” Halter said.
Halter credits his employees with the body shop’s success, and he stands behind their work.
“I believe we have some of the best tech- nicians in the business. Their combined ex- perience and longevity with the company make all the difference,” he said.
A half-century in business offers evi- dence that Halter’s Body Shop isn’t about lip service.
“We want our customers’ vehicles properly repaired and for customers to be completely satisfied,” Halter said. “We warranty what we do because we are about long-term relationships, not just a single repair. If our customers have questions or concerns about the work we’ve done, we want to know about it.”
