VALLEY PIANO CO.
Experience is key to shop’s continued success
Valley Piano Co. is celebrating its 41st year of providing quality musical instru- ments to the Arkansas River Valley. It’s those years of experience that allow it to help musicians select the right instru- ment with local support and service after the sale.
“We give every customer the VIP treat- ment,” said Brian Chenowith, store man- ager, whose father, Al Chenowith, founded the store in 1974. “We don’t have clerks, so every customer deals with the owners, whether they’re buying a $25,000 grand piano or a $5 set of guitar strings.”
With a showroom for product demon- strations and testing, the store specializes in new and used, vertical and grand acoustic pianos, as well as digital pianos and key- boards. “There are very few communities that still have a piano store,” Chenowith said. “We take pride in being a full-service piano dealer in the River Valley community.”
The store also offers a selection of acoustic, electric and bass guitars and amplifiers, as well as guitar accessories.
“We have a website, valleypiano.com, and a Facebook page, but we are still very much an old-school, customer-service- based business. We are somewhat exclusive and boutique-ish with our product selec- tion, but that doesn’t mean high prices,” Chenowith said. “The big-box business model works fine for certain items — pa- per towels, for example — which are ex- actly the same in every package. But with musical instruments, each instrument has its own unique characteristic, and it can get very confusing to see items like a pia- no or guitar that can look similar one to another but play and sound very different- ly. We use our 40 years of experience to form our opinion on which instruments are the best values to stock. This elimi- nates a lot of confusion buyers experience from too many product choices and helps keep prices competitive.”

MCKINNEY TIRE PROS
Keep up the pace with Conway repair shop
We’re always on the go, the world is moving at a rapid pace, and none of us can afford to be slowed down by car trou- bles. Well, there’s one customer-driven shop in Conway that is dedicated to keeping clients’ vehicles in top shape. McKinney Tire Pros has been open since 1951, and owner Rustin Standridge said his employees are ready to go the extra mile to make their customers feel wel- come.
“Our motto is, ‘At McKinney Tire Pros, we’ll treat you like family,’” he said. “We are always ready to help our custom- ers, and love being able to serve them.”
Standridge said he’s built his business on three principles: quality, honesty and integrity. These principles, he said, help build a lasting relationship with custom- ers and help his staff provide even better service.
“We want our customers to feel happy with their decision and confident that they went with the right shop,” he said.
“They know they can trust us and that we will work hard for them.”
McKinney Tire Pros offers tires from Michelin, BF Goodrich, Uniroyal, Con- tinental, General, Cooper, Hankook and many other popular brands. The shop al- so carries many NAPA-brand auto parts. For those who want to upgrade the look of their ride, the shop also offers a wide selection of wheels. On its website, cus- tomers can use the shop’s Wheel Studio to preview what their cars would look like with a fresh set of wheels.
In addition to selling tires, the shop provides service on brakes, suspension systems, water pumps and radiators; performs alignments and oil changes; and more. The shop has 18 employees, and its three mechanics are Automotive Service Excellence-certified.
