It was a meet-cute made for the movies when Payton met Wade while visiting his roommate in February 2017. When
the roommate’s dog ran toward Payton, she picked up a nearby dog toy and threw it as hard as she could — straight into Wade’s face. Payton’s apologies sparked a conversation that led the two to begin dating that April. In Sept. 2018, the two went on a romantic date to Schaefers and Collins Pumpkin Patch in May ower, where he proposed in the sun ower eld. “[It was a] very thoughtful day that I will always treasure,” Payton said. A er saying “yes,” Payton planned a simple, elegant ceremony and reception at Cabin Creek Lookout in Lamar. “My ideal wedding entailed a ceremony outside surrounded by all of our friends and family,” she added. “I wanted to get married in the fall because of how beautiful the trees would look and the cooler weather.”
THE EVENT
Nearly 300 people joined the couple for the ceremony, which was performed by Wade’s uncle. “We felt so loved and were blown away when we saw the amount of people who came to support us on our big day,” Payton said. A memory table and two charms on Payton’s bouquet paid homage to the couple’s deceased loved ones.
THE ATTIRE
From the moment she purchased her Madison James gown at Low’s Bridal & Formal in Brinkley, Payton said, she knew the dress matched her personality. e gown featured a low back, spaghetti straps, scrolled details and lace embellishments. Her six bridesmaids wore blue gowns from Always & Forever in Fort Smith, and the men wore tuxedos from Rainwater’s in Fort Smith.
THE DETAILS
A simple palette of blue, silver and white owed throughout the table settings, centerpieces and other decor. Cathy’s Flowers & Gi s in Russellville provided the oral arrangements, which were composed of greenery and white blooms. “ ey even included my mother’s favorite owers — daisies — a er I mentioned her love for them,” Payton said. Her bouquet included greenery, white roses, daisies and baby’s breath.
