Emily and Kevin wrote a prescription for love during their work together at a hospital, where she was training him to take her place as
overnight pharmacist. On their last night together, Kevin asked her out. Emily said the couple kept their relationship secret from their co-workers for six months. “Everyone was suggesting that we go on a date during those six months, but we would make up some excuse just to avoid answering,” she added. “We eventually spilled the beans, and everyone was so excited for us.” In July 2018, a year after the couple began dating, Kevin proposed at Knoop Park in Little Rock, the site of their second date. “We had our dogs with us, which made it fun but chaotic,” Emily said. “It was wonderful!” With help from Brittney Renfro, a friend and wedding planner, Emily said, she began putting together the big Catholic wedding of her dreams.
THE EVENT
About 175 friends and family members ocked to St. Edward Catholic Church in Little Rock, where Father John Marconi performed the ceremony. Keeping with the event’s dusty-rose, blush and champagne palette, Brittney created the bouquets and centerpieces using a variety of roses, as well as ranunculus, eucalyptus
and hydrangeas.
THE ATTIRE
A er visiting multiple dress shops, Emily fell in love with an Essence of Australia gown featuring lace sleeves and a trumpet skirt with a dramatic chapel-length train at Low’s Bridal & Formal
in Brinkley. Her seven bridesmaids procured di erent styles of oor-length dresses in the couple’s color palette, and the men rented tuxedos from A Step Above in Little Rock.
THE TASTES
Two Sisters Catering in Sherwood provided a lling meal of meatballs, pork loin and grilled chicken. A friend of Emily’s mother baked the traditional white wedding cake with buttercream frosting, and Kevin’s aunt baked the groom’s cake. “It was a chocolate cake covered in two of his favorite things — skateboards and a replica of his 1968 Ford Bronco,” Emily added.
