BEST OF THE BEST!
B2015 B2018
ince 1987, when Dr. Tom Paulus Sfounded All for Kids Pediatric Clin- ic in Little Rock, the establishment has been committed to meeting the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health needs of children. Although Paulus retired in 2018, that commitment to care
is still evident among the clinic’s providers. This year, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette readers named Dr. September Westbrook as Best Pediatrician in the newspaper’s annual Best of the Best readers’ poll, and Dr. Dawn Martin was named a finalist in the category. “I am very honored to be chosen as Best of the Best,” said Westbrook, who has worked at the clinic for 20 years. “It makes me feel like I’m actually making a difference in my patients’ lives. It means a lot that they
took the time to vote for me.”
Martin said the clinic’s approach to caring
for all aspects of children’s health facilitates the top-notch care that garnered the awards. “I am honored to be voted into Best of the Best [as a finalist] for Best Pediatrician,” Martin said. “This is just another reminder of the enormity of my responsibility to provide
the best care for my patients.”
Westbrook said the Christian principles on
which the clinic was founded are evident not only in the way doctors treat their patients, but in interactions among staff members.
“We really try to follow the Golden Rule and treat everyone the way we want to be treated,” she said. “Being Christ-centered helps in all aspects of running the business and medical sides of our practice.”
Martin agreed that faith is an integral component of her work.
“My mission is to care for each child to the best of my ability, to take the gifts that God has given me and use them to his glory,” she said. “That I play a small role in the growth of a child and their family is very rewarding.”
Both doctors said they are committed to listening to the families who visit the clinic and explaining treatment plans in under- standable terms. Westbrook said she endeav- ors to treat each patient as if he or she were her own child, while helping parents navi- gate all stages of parenting and raise happy, healthy children.
“My favorite part of my job is getting to celebrate new births and watch the chil- dren grow and develop,” she said. “The re- lationships built through the years are very rewarding.”
