THE EVENT
About 200 guests attended the ceremony, which was performed by Emily’s uncle,
Brad Grabs. A string quartet played the processional song, “Manchester,” by Kishi Bashi, which Emily fell in love with at a concert. “As soon as I heard him close his set with the hauntingly beautiful love song,
I thought ‘Wow, I have no idea who or when I’ll get married, but I have to get married to that song,’” she said.
THE ATTIRE
Blush and navy owed throughout the attire and decorations. Emily wore a backless mermaid gown from Savvy Bridal in Kansas City, Missouri. “It just felt right,” she said. “It was the opposite of what I had planned, but they always say that’s how it goes.” Her ve bridesmaids rented their blush dresses from Union Station, and James and his ve groomsmen rented their tuxedos from e Black Tux.
THE RECEPTION
e couple invited guests to play a number of oversized games during the reception, which was DJed

THE TASTES
To complement the tea-party theme, the couple o ered a menu lled with sweets from Bizzy B’s Bakery in Bentonville. Since James did not want a groom’s cake, the couple shared a wedding cake from Harp’s bakery with layers of white, peanut butter and marble swirl cake. To add to the occasion, the family of one of the bridesmaids provided their ice cream truck so guests could enjoy frozen confections.
THE DETAILS
Emily’s mother hand made many of the decorations, from tassel garlands to glass signs. “It was really her full-time job for an entire year, and her product was the most beautiful day of our lives,” Emily said. e Floral Godmother in Bella Vista provided plenty of peonies, silver dollar eucalyptus and baby’s breath for the garden a air.
