Savannah and Matt fell head over heels in love a er meeting in 2011 while he was applying for a choreography job at the Little Rock dance studio where
she worked. Matt ended up moving from New Jersey to Little Rock a year a er applying for the role at the dance studio. Matt popped the question on Dec. 19, 2015, at a beach near his childhood home in New Jersey. He handed Savannah a silver “tap” charm with the initial B engraved on it. She wasn’t fully aware of what the B stood for until he was down on one knee. Dance brought these two together, and remains an integral part of their relationship. “With us both being tap dancers, and that being such a huge part of our lives and how we met, it seemed wrong not to include it in our day in some way,” Savannah said. “We ended up choreographing a tap-dance section into our rst dance. I wore white high-heel tap shoes, and we surprised everyone by breaking into tap dance in the middle of our slow dancing to Frank Sinatra’s rendition of ‘ e Way You Look Tonight.’ We felt like Fred and Ginger, for sure!” e two chose Little Rock’s Robinson Center for both their wedding ceremony and the reception, “and having so many loved ones there celebrating with us made it the best day of both of our lives by far,” she said.
THE EVENT
“I knew I wanted a spring wedding, and I knew I wanted it to have a very classic, elegant, timeless feel,” Savannah said. Approximately 250 guests were in attendance for the couple’s big day at the Robinson Center in Little Rock. Matt studied music education at Montclair State University
in New Jersey, and many of his close friends are musicians. “It was special because our ceremony band ended up being made up of friends and family,” Savannah said.
THE ATTIRE
Savannah found her custom- t-and- are gown by Laine Berry at Inverness Bridal Couture in Conway. A er trying on countless dresses and nding elements from so many that Savannah adored, Leigh Middleton, owner, called
in her sister — the designer Laine. A er 30 seconds of listening to what Savannah loved, Laine had drawn the most beautiful dress that Savannah had ever seen. e six bridesmaids had custom in nity dresses made by e Radical read Co., and the groomsmen’s tuxedos came from Men’s Wearhouse.
THE CAKES
Art Is In Cakes, Bakery & Supply in Little Rock created both cakes for the event. e bride’s cake featured two layers of classic white wedding cake with a champagne- avored icing, and one layer of white- chocolate cake with lavender icing. e groom’s cake was chocolate espresso with Kahlua- avored icing. e groom’s cake featured piano keys, along with various sports memorabilia.
