Amoment of doubt led to a lifetime of love for Sarah Brady, who first met Jason after demanding proof that one of her friends
knew someone named Frisbie. After Jason showed up to settle the debate, he asked her on a date to Lost Forty. “We joke that it serves me right for ever suspecting her because now it’s my name, too,” Sarah Brady said. In June 2018, Jason proposed at the site of their first kiss. After saying “yes,” Sarah Brady was surprised to hear the cheers of their friends, some of whom came from as far as New York to witness the proposal. “I was definitely not expecting to see some of my closest friends from different corners of the country,” Sarah Brady added. The couple planned a fun, laid-back New Year’s Eve wedding that reflected their careers in film and television, as well as their love of books.
THE EVENT
About 175 guests from near and far attended the ceremony at Southern Charm in Lonoke. e couple wanted to share the star-studded skies of rural Arkansas with their out-of-town guests during the outdoor ceremony, Sarah Brady said. She added that she celebrated her Jewish heritage with
a traditional ceremony that included signing the ketubah, performing the ceremony beneath a chuppah and dancing the hora.
THE DETAILS
e couple weaved burgundy,
navy and accent colors throughout the decorations. e bridesmaids carried old-world lanterns adorned with owers. Cabbage Rose Florist
in Little Rock incorporated plenty
of texture into the bridal bouquet, which included dahlias, scabiosa, seeded eucalyptus, berries, quicksand roses and more. “I wanted a whimsical feel with lots of texture and movement,” Sarah Brady said.
THE ATTIRE
e eight grooms’ attendants rented their suits from Men’s Wearhouse, and Jason wore a custom suit from Barakat Bespoke. e 16 bridesmaids wore gowns in the couple’s color palette, and the two ring “bears” wore teddy bear costumes. Sarah Brady found her strapless A-line gown at Low’s Bridal & Formal in Brinkley. “She looked like royalty,” Jason said. “I was absolutely oored by how glamorous she looked.”
THE TASTES
Guests enjoyed Arkansas comfort food and Lost Forty beer — a homage to the couple’s rst date — as well as brews from Ozark Beer Co. Boulevard Bread Co. in Little Rock and e Pink Mixers in Carlisle provided the spread, which included fried chicken and plentiful vegan options. Instead of cakes, the couple opted for cookies and cupcakes, including a vinegar pecan cookie recipe by Sarah Brady’s grandmother.
