ROYAL WEDDING INSPIRES SLEEK, MINIMALIST LOOK FOR BRIDES
For many little girls, the idea of walking down the aisle in a beautiful wedding gown is the stuff dreams are made of. At this point in life, the groom’s identity is unknown — but who hasn’t dreamed of marrying her Prince Charming?
Last May, American actress Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, realized that dream when she wed Britain’s Prince Harry.
Markle eschewed many details that little girls might imagine for their gowns, such as lace, beads and frothy tulle skirts, instead stunning the world with an elegantly understated Givenchy dress designed by Clare Wright Keller. The gown, reminiscent of styles fa- vored by Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn, was  tted but not tight, hinting at the curves beneath, and featured a bateau neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves. The look was completed by a stunning cathedral veil of silk tulle, bordered with hand-embroidered blos- soms representing the 53 counties of the British Commonwealth, along with wintersweet, found in the Kensington Palace gardens, and the California poppy, the state  ower of California.
