BEST OF THE BEST • 25N BEST ROOFING COMPANY Garcia and Son Roofing & Gutters LLC >>
Roofing business puts family, customers first
Pablo Garcia immigrated to the United States in the 1980s. He came from a small town in Mexico, where he was one of 10 kids. For him, owning a business was never about the money, but instead, it was
about treating the customers how he would like to be treated. “That means more to him than anything,” said his wife, Allison Garcia. “You don’t want your roof to look that way, and neither does the customer. We have to treat it like our
own home.”
Garcia and Son Roofing & Gutters was named Best
Roofing Company for the fifth year in a row in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s 2020 Best of the Best readers’ poll.
“We are so thrilled to have won,” Allison said. “Whatever we are doing is working. I am so blessed by the readers and those who took the time to vote.
“It is an overwhelming feeling to be recognized and win. It really makes us happy.”
She said Garcia and Son faces some tough competition, whom she and Pablo have a lot of respect for, so she said she would have never thought they would be recognized as Best Roofing Company for five consecutive years.
“We are family-owned and -operated. From the office staff to the roofers, you are going to run into family members,” Allison said. “I think we give you a personal experience, and

our subcontractors work for us exclusively, so we know their work, and they help us feel confident that we are going to get a good quality roof time after time.”
She said working with family every day means there are going to be some challenges, but “we love each other and love being around each other.”
Garcia and Sons has 12 employees, and all are family ex- cept for one of the company’s estimators. Michael Tanner
was brought on because of his experience and to assist Travis Spoon, Allison’s son, when his workload became unmanage- able for one person.
“Whether it is personal issues or business issues, we are there together, and I think it is awesome to know that you have someone to fall back on and people who really care about you,” Allison said.
Garcia and Sons opened in 2000. Pablo worked as a sub- contractor, and that winter was a tough one, during which few in the roofing business were working. Allison said she and Pablo starting calling people to see if businesses needed roofing contractors, and “it just kind of escalated from there.”
“We are going a little bit stronger each year,” she said. “For the most part, our customers are happy. If there is something you aren’t happy with, that’s what matters to us.
“By the time we are finished, from the beginning to the end, 99 percent of the time, the customers are completely 100 percent satisfied.”
Allison said that from start to finish, customers are able to get in touch with Garcia and Son Roofing, either through staff members’ personal cellphones or with an emergency number on the office phone.
“We go out there, and we take care of them,” she said. “They get a personalized experience.”
