Local housing lender offers real results for customers
Since 1998, Bank of Little Rock Mortgage has been dedicated to providing personalized and professional services to homebuyers who are looking to own the home of their dreams.
The company’s customer-focused attitude has paid off, as Bank of Little Rock Mortgage was selected as Best Mortgage Company in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s 2020 Best of the Best readers’ poll.
“This is an amazing honor,” said Donna Hall, vice president of loan production. “We are very excited. Our customers are really so important to us, and it’s humbling to know they feel the same way.”
Hall said Bank of Little Rock Mortgage was started 22 years ago by eight local folks who decided they could help found a mortgage company for the Bank of Little Rock. While the company has grown, she said that at its heart, Bank of Little Rock Mortgage is still just local folks making mortgages for their friends and their community.
“We know we’ve done a good job when we see you again and again, when your friends call us and when you invite us to your parties or your homes,” Hall said. “We don’t want to just do your current mortgage. We want to do the next one and the one after that and eventually your kids’ mortgages. We want to be your lender for life.”
Hall said that what really makes Bank of Little Rock Mortgage special is its staff of professional employees. She said employees in the building have more than 100 years of combined experience, and they’ve put together the best team, from the recep- tionist to the closers to the post-closing process.
“It really comes down to the little things,” Hall said. “We had one loan officer who knew his cus- tomer was looking for packing boxes, and when he saw some on Nextdoor, he drove 20 minutes out of his way to pick them up and deliver them to his cus- tomer. Another loan officer drove 90 minutes each way to retrieve some documents so his Veterans
Affairs customer would not have to take off work to get the documents.
“There are lots of stories of late nights and weekends to help work around our customers’ busy schedules,” she said.
Bank of Little Rock Mortgage stays on top of current trends and technology, Hall said. She said the business and staff have been able to combine the convenience of technology and the internet with a strong local presence to deliver the best of both worlds.
“We like to think of ourselves as high-tech and high-touch,” Hall said.
Another aspect of Bank of Little Rock Mortgage’s community-minded efforts is its dedication to local nonprofit groups and organizations. She said the company has a soft spot for housing-related causes. She also said members of the staff are often found volunteering and working with groups such as local food banks and Toys for Tots.
