It is also wise to be mindful of the entire venue cost. It’s important to think of the wedding in totality and take all of the factors into consideration when looking at venues.
“Budget approximately 50 percent of your wedding costs for the venue and catering,” said Melanie Watson with University of Central Arkansas Outreach and Community Engagement. “Don’t let the cost of the venue take away from the other parts of the reception, like the oral ar- rangements or music, that are important to you as well.”
Karen Martin with Faulkner Lake Orchard Wedding and Event Center recommends that brides ask what the venue price includes. “It is important to note what the venue in- cludes in the total price,” she said. “Will you need to rent tables and chairs, or are they included in the venue price? What does the venue offer you that you can utilize and save on your budget?”
Whether planning a large indoor soirée or an intimate out- door wedding, it is important to be prepared with questions and a clear vision to guide the research and visits involved in selecting a wedding venue.
