Our newsroom allows copy editors to specialize in editing and headline-writing. Our aim is to produce a quality newspaper for our readers, who come first at our company.
This position, located in Little Rock, is on our night copy desk. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in journalism and at least three years of daily newspaper experience, but we will review the resume of any skilled wordsmith who can show how he or she spared a newspaper from libel, mistakes and poor grammar, all the while crafting headlines that caught the read- er's eye.
Applicants must know headline writing, grammar, punctuation, Associated Press style and libel law. A big plus is experience working on the wire desk, from selecting to strongly editing wire stories.
