For the budget-conscious fashionista, an accessory that can be worn multiple ways is a smart choice. A long strand of pearls is one of those pieces every woman should own because it can be changed up with a knot here, a loop there or the addition of a broach just about anywhere. Here are 12 ways to
wear a long strand of pearls:
Hold the pearls with both hands to 1 form an oval. With the right hand, twist the strand away from you to
form an X. With the right index finger and thumb inside the right loop, pull the opposite side through to form a knot. Repeat the process through the length of the strand. With a clip, connect the end loops.
2
Crochet five slip knots as in figure 1; then pull the beginning loop from the starting end to create a double strand. A single strand will be on the rear of the crocheted section. Use a clip to clasp the ends together at the nape of the neck.
Wrap the necklace around the neck 3 as many times as is comfortable by
tightening around the neck, leaving one strand long; then even out the strands.
Quadruple the strands, and pull the 4 strands on the left side through the
middle of the right. Cinch to the neck, and let hang.
5
Tie three knots in the necklace at equal distances; then use a clip to clasp the ends together at the nape of the neck.
Double-strand and knot the 6 necklace near the collarbone,
letting the ends hang at different lengths.
Double the strands, and pin
7 together with a broach at the lapel.
8
Quadruple the strands, and let them hang at various lengths. Use a broach to pin the bottom strand.
Double-strand and knot the 9 necklace a few inches from the
bottom.
Double-strand the necklace; then 10 knot by holding all the lengths together and crossing them in
the front and pulling through the middle.
11
Double-strand the necklace; then knot in the middle. Use a clip to clasp the ends together at the nape of the neck, letting the lower strands hang longer.
Triple-strand the necklace, and let 12 the strands hang at various lengths,
double-knotting the longest a few inches from the bottom.
