Advanced Physical Therapy Center of downtown Conway has provided physical therapy services to central Arkansas since 2006. Now in its 10th year, the center will maintain its commitment to high-quality care as more patients seek out physical therapy, said Ellen Haverstick, owner and physical therapist.
“People value physical therapy more than ever,” she said. “The general population is becoming more privy to the services that physical therapists offer, and often self-refer to physical therapy for sprains, strains, aches and pains.”
Physical therapy programs can empow- er patients by enhancing their understand- ing of their conditions, improving physical function, and allowing patients to manage their conditions and prevent another injury, Haverstick said.
“We want to help you by providing per- sonalized care as you recuperate from an or- thopedic surgery, painful injury, or chronic joint or muscle disorder,” she said, adding that the center’s patients trust the experienced
staff at the center and often refer friends and family who are in need of physical therapy.
Although patients may delay treatment because they are afraid it will be painful, Hav- erstick said it is best to see patients as soon as possible after the onset of symptoms.
“We are not here to hurt you; we are here to help you recover; the sooner we start, the better your outcome,” she said. “Sometimes physical therapy is uncomfortable, but a good physical therapy team will strive to minimize discomfort throughout your rehab process.”
In addition, most people can schedule a physical therapy appointment without a doc- tor’s referral, which can help them get relief faster, she said.
She added that her favorite part of the job is finding common ground with patients.
“We have made many friends over the past 10 years,” she said. “We love the down- town Conway community and are proud to be a thriving health care business in down- town Conway.
“The consistency of care we provide is what keeps our business strong,” she said. “We still provide high-quality and individu- alized physical therapy programs, as we did 10 years ago.”
