for the photo shoot.
Prep your pucker
Many brides dream of their first kiss with their new husband, so it is important to have soft, smooth lips for that special moment.
“They want to start working a month out on their lips,” Davis said. The company’s website recommends using an exfoliant three times a week and applying lip balm regularly.
THREE WEEKS OUT Polish your peepers
Brides can make the skin around their eyes appear younger, smoother and lighter by beginning an eye-treatment routine three weeks before the wedding. Both brides and their mothers like to use eye serums to combat the effects of stress brought on by wedding planning, Davis said.
Beautify your brows
Three weeks before the wedding is also an ideal time for brides to have their eye- brows shaped, according to BeautiControl’s publication. That way, they can maintain that shape until the wedding.“If you can get your eyebrows professionally waxed, it’s a really good thing to do,” Davis said.
ONE WEEK OUT Brighten your locks
Brides who color their hair should do so in the week leading up to the wedding.
“They definitely want to get it done a few days beforehand so they have good color and brightness,” Harris said. However, they should allow a few days in case color corrections are needed.
Neaten up nails
For fresh nails during the wedding, brides should get manicures and pedicures a day or two beforehand, Harris said.
“After you get your nails done, make sure you’re not dealing with anything that may transfer color. No playing with dyes or anything like that, because that can ruin a good manicure,” she said.
Tan if you wish
Brides who desire a bronze glow on their wedding day should allow a few days in case of burns, which may be difficult to camouflage with makeup, Harris said. Brides

who get a spray tan should do so at least two days beforehand, and brides who visit tanning beds should make sure not to tan longer than recommended, she said.
In addition, brides who tan should wait until they achieve their desired skin tone before picking out foundation, in order to ensure a good match, Davis said.
THE BIG DAY Pamper your eyes
For sparkling wedding-day eyes, Davis said she likes to use nourishing eye pads on brides the night or morning before the wedding, which adds a “wow factor” to brides’ eyes.
Get pretty
Just before the wedding, brides get into full gear with bridal hair and makeup. They should start with their normal skin-care routine, Harris said.Although many brides opt to do their own hair and makeup, it may be easier to hire a professional.
“It’s a special day. It’s something that they’re going to have pictures of and remember for the rest of their lives,” Harris said, adding that having someone else handle their beauty needs takes stress off brides.
“Some things are just best left to the professionals,” she said.
Take a beauty toolkit
Brides may find it helpful to have some beauty essentials on hand before the ceremony and during the reception. Davis recommended packing a beauty “toolkit” with lip color, hand lotion, fragrance and other accoutrements that will allow brides to perform touch-ups between hugs and handshakes.
Being a blushing bride can take some work, but with timely, step-by-step beauty preparations, brides can look and feel fabulous on the day they say “I do.”
