SCA uses technology to further education
Situated in the historic Hillcrest neighbor- hood, Children’s House Montessori School has been providing Montessori education to generations since 1973. The school welcomes children from 1 to 10 years old.
At Children’s House, the emotional, intel- lectual, physical, social and spiritual aspects of a child’s development are of equal im- portance to the school’s staff. In this spirit, the school invites children to take part in a unique educational opportunity in an envi- ronment prepared especially for their needs and interests.
The school was opened by Dr. Whit and Nancy Hall in 1973 to provide a world-re- nowned method of early-childhood educa- tion for children. Students are allowed to grow at their own pace, and the school’s primary curriculum includes language, mathematics, geometry, geography, history, pre-history, botany, biology, music and art.
The school’s location in Hillcrest is convenient for families in the Pulaski Heights, Midtown and downtown Little Rock neighborhoods. Children’s House is open

Southwest Christian Academy’s new media center has been completed and offers 30 laptops and an attractive library area for students.
Tablet technology is going strong at the school, with grades 9-12 leading the way. School officials and staff believe e-books are the way to go in 21st-century education. Students, teachers and parents are happy to have better communication and state- of-the-art technology instruction for the school’s students, said Sharon Stewart, the school’s principal.
“We are preparing students for the future, she said. “This is how education will be in college.”
Stewart said SCA is the first school in this area to have a basketball prep program. Its Southwest Christian Elite team is rated No. 2 in its league by MaxPreps. The program has local and international students who are seeking college scholarships.
