the association are networking opportunities, professional-devel- opment classes and updates on changes in the building industry.
MORE THAN 200 EXHIBITORS IN ONE LOCATION
More than 200 exhibitors will be located on the floor level and concourse level of the arena. The event’s Platinum Spon- sors — Kaufman Lumber and Casa Blanca Granite, Marble and Tile — headline the weekend’s list of participating central Arkansas businesses. The variety of exhibitors represented at the show includes home security and home automation, custom doors, storm shelters, patio furniture, countertops, lighting, small remodels, new home construction, garage doors, flooring, appliances, showers and tubs, pools and spas.
Some of the trends that Home Show attendees will see this year are new, but some have been gaining momentum for several years, such as greater use of outdoor spaces.
OUTDOOR LIVING SPACES
Smiatek sees an increased interest in home designs that seam- lessly incorporate outdoor spaces into the overall floor plan.
“The patio, deck, yard and garden are now becoming a part of the floor plan. We’re seeing more outdoor ‘rooms’ that include not just grills, but sinks and other features that can turn a patio or deck into a second kitchen,” Smiatek stated.
Curtis, also a Home Builders Association member, said, “As a builder, we express to our customers that your home is not just the walls that enclose it. You can get the sense of extend- ing the inside of your home by bringing interior functions to your outdoor space. More often than not, your outdoor space becomes the favorite place for entertaining or simply relaxing.”
YOU COULD WIN AN LED SMART TV
This year’s giveaway is a 48-inch Samsung LED smart television courtesy of Arkansas Custom Iron Doors. To be eligible to win, just fill out the backside of your Home Show admission ticket and drop it off at Arkansas Custom Iron Doors — booths 43 and 44. The grand-prize drawing will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, and you do not have to be present to win.
Many of the other exhibitor booths will feature giveaways and drawings, so visitors should be sure to register.
NOW ENJOY THE HOME SHOW!
The Home Show is an ideal venue to gather ideas, check out new products and talk to the experts — all under one roof!
With plenty of new cutting-edge products, visitors will appreciate one aspect of the event that hasn’t changed: the price of admission. General admission is still just $8 for adults. Children 12 years old and under are admitted free with an adult.
Verizon Arena’s concourse level will offer concessions for attendees interested in food and beverages.
In addition to the Home Show Platinum Sponsors, Kaufman Lumber and Casa Blanca Granite, Marble and Tile, Gold Spon- sors include Inside Effects & Outside Effects, LP Building Prod- ucts and Whirlpool.
The Home Builders Association of Greater Little Rock was established in 1952 to promote not only the housing indus- try, but also to promote professionalism within the industry.
