2H HOME SHOW • ADVERTISING SUPPLEMENT TO THE ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE • FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2016
The Ask the Builder booth is one of the Home Show’s most popular features. The booth gives attendees an opportunity to get free advice from local experts.
2016 Home Show reflects latest trends in home products and ideas
When you’re responsible for putting on Arkansas’ largest and longest-run- ning home show, you want to make sure that each year’s show reflects the new trends in home products and ideas that con- sumers want to see.
Shannon Smiatek, executive officer of the Home Builders Association of Greater Little Rock — the organization that hosts the show — and the event co-chairmen Tanya Malcolm and Frank Curtis all take great responsibility for the show. All ensure that the event caters to the interests and needs of consumers who are plan- ning on or considering building, remodeling or enhancing their homes.
“Each year’s Home Show is unique because we strategically plan the event to highlight cur- rent trends in homebuilding, home design and home products,” Smiatek explained. “If you’re considering buying, building, decorating or remodeling a home, you can pick up some terrific ideas at the Home Show.”
Malcolm agreed. “The homes of tomorrow are on the drawing board today, so we try to feature new technologies, new designs and changing industry trends.”
The 2016 Home Show runs 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Orga- nizers say this year’s event will be better than ever, with a variety of returning vendors and also some first-time offerings.
NEW THIS YEAR: ASK THE DESIGNER
One of those new offerings that has Smiatek excited is the Ask the Designer booth, spon- sored by At Home magazine.
“The booth will be staffed with experienced design experts who can offer help with paint colors, furniture placement, full room design, kitchens, bathrooms, curb appeal and much more,” Smiatek said. “I know this is going to be a very popular booth.” Be sure to peruse the Ask the Designer lineup included in this insert to plan your visit (see page 4).
Smiatek continued, “Folks who have come to the Home Show in the past are familiar with our Ask the Builder booth. It’s a booth staffed by homebuilding experts who offer free advice and answer patrons’ questions. This has been one of our most valuable ser- vices at the Home Show. The addition of the Ask the Designer booth will add another lev- el of experts available to assist attendees with their design needs.”
With both the Ask the Builder and Ask the Designer booths, show visitors will want to bring pictures and their house plans and de- sign plans with them. Builders and designers can take a look at plans, pictures and ideas, and give patrons free building and remod- eling advice.
While you are at the Ask The Builder booth, be sure to pick up a copy of the 2016 Professional Building Guide. This com- prehensive guide provides information on building professionals who are members of the Home Builders Association of Greater Little Rock. Individuals are encouraged to use association members because they are considered leaders in the homebuilding in- dustry and are dedicated to best practices, continuing education and professionalism.
