BEST AUTO DEALER (NEW); BEST AUTO DEALER (USED) Everett Buick GMC >> Dealership builds on foundation of neighborly relations
For nine years, Everett Buick GMC has sold quali- ty vehicles in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Al- though the dealership has grown significantly, it has retained its family ownership and community
involvement.
This year, readers of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
voted Everett Buick GMC the Best Auto Dealer (New) and the Best Auto Dealer (Used) in the newspaper’s annual Best of the Best readers’ poll.
“It’s an honor, and it feels good to be rewarded for how hard everyone works,” part-owner Susie Everett said.
“The success that you have in anything you do in busi- ness is the quality of people that you have working with you and building those relationships with the customers,” said her husband, part-owner Dwight Everett.
The dealership is a General Motors Mark of Excellence- award winner, and it is the only dealership in Arkansas that has won GM’s Dealer of the Year award, he said. The busi- ness has also been the No. 1 volume Buick GMC dealership in the United States for the past five years, he added.
Everett Buick GMC was the No. 1 volume dealership for all of GM in August and September. “General Motors has been in existence for 106 years, and they’ve never had
a Buick GMC store that’s ever led GM in sales volume be- fore,” he said.
As well as the Bryant location, Everett has three deal- erships in Northwest Arkansas and an Infiniti dealership in Little Rock, and recently acquired two Toyota dealerships in Texas, he said. Everett also just opened a new facility in Bryant, which gives the service department more room to assist customers, Susie said.
“We’ve been able to grow, to expand, and a large part of it has to do with how we run the business,” Dwight said. Susie stressed the integrity of the dealership’s staff and owners.
“I think that being a part of your hometown is a big deal. Our name is out there, and we want that good reputation, and our employees want that good reputation for us. Being here makes everybody more accountable,” she said.
When they started the dealership, the couple decid- ed they would commit to community involvement, she said. Among other things, the business gives back through schools, churches, sports teams, bands and clubs.
“We just believe in the community, and the community supports us. We want the place we live to be a better place and hope we can contribute to it,” she said.
