FINALIST: BEST HEARING CENTER Pinnacle Hearing >>
Audiologists provide more than just amplified volume
Hearing loss is often an issue that goes untreated in many Americans today, but that doesn’t mean it is too late for people to have their hearing checked and possibly get fitted for hearing aids
and more. At Pinnacle Hearing, treatment goes beyond just fitting patients for hearing aids and sending them on their way. The hearing center is focused on other areas of hearing and works to provide peace of mind to its patients.
Through this friendly patient care and dedication to high-quality service, Pinnacle Hearing was voted as a fi- nalist for Best Hearing Center by readers of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in its Best of the Best contest.
Pinnacle Hearing is a locally and independently owned business that gives back to the community and cares for its patients so they can hear clearly again. Owner and audiol- ogist Mary Chatelain said she is enamored by the fact that she is able to help the people in her home state.
“It’s such an honor to be able to serve the residents of Arkansas and just to be able to serve those people that I have such a heart for,” she said. “We are just so blessed that we are actually local. I feel that because we are invested in the community, our patients see that. Not only are we invested in our practice, but we’re invested in this area, and

we’re invested in the people, so I feel like that’s what makes us included in that upper tier of people.”
The hearing center’s focus goes past that of just
hearing aids. The business also focuses on musician’s monitors; treatment for tinnitus, which is ringing in the ears; and hearing tests for babies, school-age children, adults and geriatric patients, as well as custom ear protection for hunters.
Pinnacle Hearing recently began a program specifically tailored to members of the community serving the public in Arkansas.
“We just implemented a program that’s basically offer- ing hearing aids and monitors and custom ear pieces at substantial savings for those who serve Arkansas, includ- ing police officers, firefighters, teachers, the list goes on,” Chatelain said. “That’s basically just an ongoing expression of appreciation from us. We’re committed to this area and the community, and I’m just so thankful that we have the opportunity to serve our patients and it not be just about a hearing aid or hearing loss, but about what we can do to help lift them up.”
Chatelain, who has been an audiologist in Arkansas since 2008, said the business is unique in that being locally owned, it is not tied down to selling just one brand of hearing aid. She said Pinnacle Hearing sells and repairs a wide variety of hearing aids, and that practice allows the business to choose a product that is best for the patient.
