said Heifer offers both an indoor and outdoor location for weddings and provides full-service catering. “Heifer provides a unique down- town space with the feel of the country,” Shelton said. “Parking is easy, and I believe we work well during the planning stages to provide what the couple needs without actually coordinating the wedding for them.”

Jean Heslip, facility sales and special events coordinator for the
Arkansas Arts Center, said it offers a venue for various kinds of
weddings, both indoor and outdoor, at the Arkansas Arts Center
museum location, as well as at the Terry House Mansion. In sum-
mer 2019, however, the museum location will close to undergo
groundbreaking renovations, but the Terry House still operates as TIP an astounding historical wedding venue. “We try to let the brides
make it their own thing,” Heslip said. “We want [the couple] to come in and do what’s going to make them happy.”
INDUSTRIAL SPACES
Growing in popularity, venues with simple industrial looks are worth looking into for an extraordinary wedding site. Usually con- structed with exposed-brick walls and wooden or concrete oors, industrial spaces such as Loft 1023 in Little Rock and 111 N. Main in Benton pair well with uncomplicated decorations, such as ac- cents of greenery and warm lighting; however, these sites leave room for more eclectic trimmings to bring out a pop of individu- ality. When looking to book an industrial space, it’s important to discuss certain accommodations, such as dance oors and seating.
EVENT CENTERS AND BALLROOMS
Event centers and ballrooms often specialize in weddings while providing their own unique air. These venues are exceptional be- cause they often come with many necessary amenities. Many also already have their own look and style, so decorating costs may be reduced. Some unique event centers and ballrooms in Arkansas include the sleek, white Grandeur House in Little Rock; Apollo on Emma in Springdale, the historical movie-theater-turned-wedding venue with classic 1940s art-deco appeal; the upscale Club 27 for a downtown location; and many more.
CHURCHES
Churches, chapels and cathedrals are considered classic wed- ding venues that easily allow couples to intertwine their faith into the ceremony. Many churches provide a ceremonial space, as well as a reception hall, and couples can check with clergy about any regulations regarding the use of the church, as well as scheduling.
“Make it yours. Pick a venue (like the Terry House) that allows you to person- alize your event. The way to make your wedding and reception memorable ones is to show your style and who you are as a couple.”
