Panthers will build around two of state’s best players

Greenbrier returns just four baseball starters, but those include two of the state’s best high school players.
“That starts with Connor Flagg and Cayden Wallace,” new coach Chad Cope said, referring to the 2020 and 2019, respec- tively, River Valley & Ozark Edition’s Players
to Watch.
He tagged Wallace, who has signed with
Arkansas, as the Panthers’ best power hitter, fielder and speed, and Flagg, a University of Central Arkansas signee, as best hitter for av- erage because of his “great approach.”
Garrett Fitts, a junior center fielder, and Talon Moore, a senior center fielder, round out the returning starters, the coach said.
“Other than those, the positions are open,”

Cope said. “Besides those four guys, we’re go- ing to be young. Everybody talks about the big two, but we’ll see as we go. We’ve got some sophomores who will have to start.”
