TEACHER/COACH LONOKE HIGH SCHOOL
HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN LONOKE?
I lived there 18 years as a kid growing up, and I moved back to town in 2020.
WHAT MAKES YOUR CITY A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE AND WORK? Lonoke is a great place
because the community is strong. It’s more than a city — it’s a family.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB? The opportunity to make a positive impact on someone’s life! I get that opportunity every day.
WHAT SUBJECTS DO YOU TEACH? Survey of Business, and I’m head boys basketball coach.
HOW DID YOU FEEL BEING NAMED LONOKE HIGH SCHOOL’S ROOKIE OF THE YEAR BY YOUR PEERS? It was an honor to receive ROY and Most Positive. I didn’t feel like a rookie because I’ve been doing this for some time
now, but I was a new teacher to the district. I am thankful that others feel a sense of positivity from me. I always hope that I can bring some form of encouragement to people I come in contact with.
HOW DO YOU TRY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS A TEACHER? I take into consideration that you never know what someone is going through, so in order to make a difference, you can’t take any day for granted. You make
the most of it by being intentional with students and faculty. You need to be different to make a difference.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES?
Coaching, golfing, fishing and anything competitive.
