YOUR NEIGHBOR
Lt. Sissy Baxter Wilson
JAIL ADMINISTRATOR, INDEPENDENCE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, BETHESDA
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT BETHESDA? I love everything about Bethesda. We are a close community, and we help take care of each other. It’s country living at its best.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED THERE? I’ve lived in Bethesda for
11 years, but I’ve been coming here to fish and spend time with friends for most of my life. ... I used to call Bethesda “the end of the world,” due to the fact that the road ended in a field.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO THE CITY? My husband, Ricky Wilson, is what brought me to Bethesda. We met about
12 years ago, and I knew Bethesda would be my forever home.
WHAT MAKES YOUR CITY A GREAT PLACE TO RAISE A FAMILY? Bethesda is a small town with a big heart. There are so many places to explore. The Bethesda Community Center has activities throughout the year, including monthly dinners, a fall festival, Cookies With Santa, Bethesda Day, a Valentine’s Day dance and movies on the lawn.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB? What I love most about my job is serving my community and my employees. It takes special people to work in corrections and law enforcement, and I’ve got a great crew.
