PARKSIDE CYCLE
Business gets public together on bikes
For more than two decades, Parkside Cycle in Hot Springs has been helping community members of all ages hop on bicycles to feel the freedom of the road.
Celebrating its 22nd anniversary, Parkside Cycle has long been a sta- ple business in the Hot Springs area. Owners Bruce and Jann Hubbard encourage everyone to get on a bike because they believe cycling is a life- long activity. Jann said the business provides bicycles for riders from 1 year old to over 80.
Along with the experience of the owners, the mechanics at the shop have more than 40 years of combined experience. Jann said cycling is in Bruce’s genes, so it’s no wonder that they’ve had the business for so long.
“You have to have a passion for cyc- ling to be in the business,” she said. “Bruce started racing as a 14-year-old. It is in his blood.”
She added that it is Parkside Cycle’s duty to put its customers on the cor- rect bicycle for their style of riding and to be there for their future needs.
“We fit you for the correct bike size. It’s not as easy as jumping on a bike when you were a kid,” she said. “Bikes are sized proportionally to your overall height, inseam and gender. Being fitted on the correct-size bike is important for your knee and back health.”
Along with providing customers a comfortable fit for their ride, Parkside Cycle offers choices in bike brands such as Trek, Felt and Salsa. The busi- ness carries Giro shoes and helmets, Camelbak hydration systems and a large assortment of nutritional prod- ucts for the long road ahead.

BROOKS MARINE
Brooks Marine has been offering boats, motors and a full-line service shop, not only to service the products the business sells but to help get customers on the water.
Members of the staff at Brooks Marine, located on Bauxite Highway between Benton and Bryant, pride themselves on running a full-line ser- vice shop that does its own machine work with a full-year warranty on all engine rebuilds.
Brooks Marine’s mission can be summed up in two words — customer satisfaction.
“We do not forget the customer after the sale,” owners Randy and Karen Brooks said.
Randy and Karen accomplish their customer-satisfaction mission with a friendly staff and by offering quality products, including Stratos and Xpress boats, as well as Yamaha and Mercury outboard motors.
Randy and Karen love what they do. When they aren’t hard at work on the sales floor or in the shop, they enjoy being outdoors fishing or boating.
“It’s good for the whole family, and so relaxing,” Karen said.
The Brooks family counts custom- ers as friends, and it’s Karen and Ran- dy’s favorite part of opening the doors every day.
“We love it every time we meet new customers or see loyal customers we have had over the years,” Karen said, “listening to what they want in a boat, or service needed, or just to listen to what the customer needs the most.”
Those relationships, along with a customer-first attitude, have allowed Brooks Marine to thrive.
