NEW FACILITIES GIVE STUDENTS BETTER OPPORTUNITIES

Big things are happening in the Russellville School District and at Arkansas
Tech University.With new awards and new buildings, these schools are getting even better at preparing area students for college and beyond.
Earlier this year, Alene Bynum, assistant super- intendent of human resources, curriculum and
instruction for the Russellville School District, was named the Arkansas Association of School Person- nel Administrators Person of theYear.The award is given to someone who displays an appreciation for exemplary leadership in providing outstanding educational opportunities for children in their dis- trict and for distinguished service as an educational leader in the state.
“When my name was called, I was pleasantly surprised because there are hundreds of assistant superintendents and superintendents who perform the role of human resources administrator, and I felt humbled that they had chosen me,” Bynum said.
