Panthers have potential to be ‘dangerous’

Tye Glover’s team is one any coach
would envy.
Glover, in his first year leading the
Greenbrier Panthers, has a group of strong players who pose a threat on many levels. He has six returning starters, three of whom have signed to play at the college level: Senior pitcher Hunter Milligan, who has signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks; senior Paxton Wallace, who has signed with Wichita State University in Kansas; senior Ryan Flake, Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton; seniors Kane Thornton and
Hunter Russaw; and junior Steven Stewart. Ninth-grader Cayden Wallace “already has many offers on the table as a freshman,” the coach said. “Kane Thornton is starting to get some attention from some junior colleges and other schools. I believe we will have some other players in the future that will be college prospects as well.” Thornton led the team in averages last year, “so I expect him to put up good numbers again,”

Glover said. “I also believe that Paxton Wallace, Ryan Flake and Cayden Wallace have a good chance to put up great offensive numbers.”
Paxton Wallace has “serious next-level pow- er,” the coach said. “He drives the ball well to all fields, and when he lines up on one, it can be impressive.”
Speed is another of his strengths. “Paxton Wallace is our fastest guy, and I feel like we have some other guys who are going to steal sever- al bases this season because of their instincts,” Glover said.
