“From the city’s perspective, it’s a state-of-the-art armory with, of course, meeting facilities for anyone who wants to use it, and I think it’s a good opportunity for more military connections to the community,” Cypert said.
In hopes of strengthening those connections, the 39th will host a community 5K and open house from 8-11 a.m. Sept. 9. The event will offer hot dogs and doughnuts, give- aways, an inflatable obstacle course and exhibitions of the Readiness Center’s weapons and trucks.
