DOWNTOWN LITTLE ROCK PARTNERSHIP: HOLDING THE VISION
Scott Schallhorn
Greetings from Downtown,
Now is a great time to be in downtown Little Rock! I challenge you to find more and better opportunities than are available now to live, work, play and invest in downtown. Working together, we have made terrific progress the past several years on Main Street. I believe 2016 will provide us even more success on that historic thoroughfare, as well as along Capitol Avenue, Markham Street and in the River Market District.
Speaking of the River Market, it is hard to believe that the resurrection of the now vibrant district began 20 years ago this year. I recall the area we now call the River Market being almost uninhabited and uninhabitable. Its transformation is amazing, and I cannot wait to see what the next 20 years will bring.
The task of the Downtown Little Rock Partnership is to make our neighborhood an even better place for living, business and life. I encourage you to contact the DLRP staff, or me directly, if we can help you in any way. Here’s to a successful 2016, and I’ll see you Downtown.
SCOTT SCHALLHORN, President
Downtown Little Rock Partnership Board of Directors
Gabe Holmstrom
Dear Friends of Downtown,
2016 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for downtown Little Rock. The growth and energy we have seen in recent years is continuing across our urban core. With the emergence of the Technology Park to the burgeoning developments in east Little Rock, and the blossoming of the SoMa (South Main) neighborhood, Downtown Little Rock is alive!
Here at the Downtown Little Rock Partnership, we are constantly talking to property owners, business owners, residents and those who work downtown to see what they want to see next in our city. We have many exciting events in store this coming year, including the 6th Annual Main Street Food Truck Festival, the award-winning event that brings tens of thousands of people to Main Street to sample the different culinary concepts up and down the street.
I hope you enjoy the 2016 Downtown magazine and look forward to hearing from you by phone, email, tweet or even in person.
