Long known as a hub for agriculture in central Arkansas, Lonoke County is unique- ly positioned for both industrial and retail growth. The county encompasses nearly 800 square miles and has a population of 71,557, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Positioned just east of Pulaski County, the area offers a rural setting with easy access to the amenities of the central Arkansas metro area.
CABOT
The city of Cabot (population 25,627, according to the latest Cen- sus Bureau estimate) offers a nationally recognized public school district and many options for retail, business and industry.
“Cabot has a lot to offer to new business- es and industries that want a small-town feel, yet a productive business community with leaders that volunteer countless hours to promote the businesses,” said Amy Wil- liams, executive director of the Cabot Cham- ber of Commerce.
Construction is expected to begin this summer on a Kroger Marketplace.
“This will be a 119,863-square-foot facil- ity, more than double the size of the cur- rent 50,438-square-foot store,” Williams said, adding that once the new store is complete, the old Kroger, located on West Main Street, will be demolished, making way for new construction.
In addition, she said, Excel Ford is making plans to move about half a mile west from its current location on West Main
