OVERVIEW
One of University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s biggest strengths is its location in the heart of Arkansas and Little Rock, a city voted the “best place to live” in 2013 by Kiplinger’s magazine. UALR is at the epicenter of gov- ernment, commerce, culture, health care and nonprofit organizations. The university’s loca- tion is a great backdrop for students who want an experience at a campus that is among the most diverse in the state and provides access to research, internships, community-service opportunities and jobs. With more than 100 undergraduate programs and an average class size of 14, UALR still offers lots of opportuni- ties for learning and growing in a community that emphasizes personal success for students.
TROJAN PRIDE
The university’s men’s and women’s bas- ketball teams had remarkable seasons this year under first-year coach Chris Beard, named the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year, and last year’s women’s Coach of the Year, Joe Foley. At 29 wins, the Trojans set a pro- gram record and captured the regular season Sun Belt Conference title. The men’s team

followed up with an NCAA tournament bid after taking the win at the Sun Belt Conference Championship in 2016. In addition, the Trojan women’s team under Coach Foley secured a second-place seed in the Sun Belt Champi- onship Tournament. Student-athletes in the school’s 14 athletic programs are not just stars on the court or on the field; they are standouts in the classroom, as well: 74 percent had GPAs of 3.0 or better, their collective GPA was 3.19, and 15 percent had a GPA of 4.0. In addition, their graduation rate is 81 percent, the highest among Division I schools in Arkansas. Visit lrtrojans.com for more information.
